Legion 86 has been feature of the Wetaskiwin community since 1930.
We are a not non-profit organization that grew from a history of service while fully acknowledging and honouring the courage and past sacrifices of those who served
and still serve today. Yes, we are guardians
of remembrance. We assist Veterans and
their families in the Wetaskiwin area.
But that’s not all that we are
about.
Today, we uphold that tradition of community involvement by
volunteering in the community, partnering with local organizations to promote
wellness, improve lives and provide support where it is needed among seniors,
youth, and the community as a whole.
Our roomy venue, including food and bar service is an inclusive and welcoming space for the wider
community.

The Great War Veterans' Association (GWVA) was Canada's largest veterans' organization, founded in 1917 to support returning soldiers after World War I. It provided aid, advocated for benefits, and organized social activities for veterans. In
1925, the GWVA merged with several other groups to form the Canadian
Legion of the British Empire Services League, which is now known as the
Royal Canadian Legion.
